Course Description:

Information Operations 101 (Fundamentals of Information Operations)

The purpose of this course is to introduce Army personnel to Information Operations (IO). The emphasis of this course is on the critical processes employed in IO planning and execution. Army, other services and Joint organizations, doctrine, capabilities and limitations related to IO are covered; as well as terms, definitions and elements of Army IO. IO 101 is designed to teach the Army IO principles. The course introduces students to fundamentals of IO and provides them with a "tool kit" of information on Army, service and Joint IO. IO 101 is conducted via distance learning, employing multi-media instructional techniques and is reinforced with self-paced practical exercises and readings. Instructors are available to impart guidance as needed to focus students on key learning points, assist in moving them through the course and providing feedback or assistance as needed to ensure the learning objectives are accomplished.

Prerequisites:
IO-101 is a pre-requisite for the Tactical Information Operations course.
