Computer Network Defense Team – Operational Training Experience (OTE)

The training program is designed to train Computer Network Defense Team (CNDT) members, in support of Information Operations (IO). CNDT members provide information defense protection that screens the computer networks of the military information environment in support of the local Commander. This course is designed to protect networks by constructing multiple layers of Computer Network Defense (CND) in depth, identify the threat, assess/protect the vulnerability of networks to potential attack, respond to incidents which limit operations, compromise information and/or corrupt data, and coordinate appropriate responses. Additionally, students are taught the process of monitoring to achieve vulnerability compliance, and to conduct information assurance planning on a network wide basis. These operations are taught to support both state and federal missions of the Army National Guard CNDT. This course is conducted in residence and is offered by mobile training to remote locations with sufficient need.

Prerequisites:
Must complete the Incident Response Handlers (IRH) Course prior to attending. In addition:

Students must have an in-depth working knowledge of either WINDOWS or UNIX operating systems and TCP/IP networking with at least 3 years of system/network administration experience. Students must also have at least a working knowledge of other operating systems.
