FAMILY ASSISTANCE CENTERS (FAC)

What is a family assistance center?

Family Assistance Centers (FACs) are designed to assist the families of military service members during peacetime and during training or mobilization.  A FAC is open to all branches of the military (Air Guard, Army Guard, Active Duty Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy and all Reserve Components).

A Family Assistance Center provides a "one-stop shopping" resource to help family members cope with any issue they encounter as a military dependant.

Who is eligible to receive services through an FAC?

All military members and their families are eligible to receive assistance. No military personnel or his/her family should be turned away from a FAC regardless of branch affiliation.

What services are provided by an FAC?

Basic services provided by a FAC can be expected to include the following, regardless of location:

  • ID Cards/DEERS

  • TRICARE/TRICARE Dental

  • Financial Assistance

  • Legal Assistance

  • Information, Referral, Follow-Up and Outreach
