Tactical Information Operations Course (TIOC)

(The IO Battalion also teaches TIOC at other locations via Mobile Training Team.  Not all courses are conducted in Vermont. Please call the IO Battalion Course Administrator to verify your class location prior to requesting orders.)

Course Description:

Tactical Information Operations Course (TIOC)
The Tactical IO Course is an 11-day resident course which prepares graduates to conduct Tactical Information Operations planning using the Army’s Military Decision Making Process (MDMP).
The course qualifies graduates to earn the Information Operations Additional Skill Identifier/Skill Identifier.
Graduates receive a certificate of completion and a DA Form 1059 (Academic Evaluation Report) to verify their successful completion of the course.
TIOC focuses on synchronizing and coordinating the core, supporting and related capabilities of IO, including Operational Security, Military deception, Psychological Operations, Electronic Warfare, Public Affairs, and Civil Military Operations.
Tactical IO Course graduates and their commanders have reported that the skills learned in this course were critical to their success in planning and conducting the full spectrum of military missions.
The course is designed for military members from grades E-6 to O-5 who will serve as Information Operations planners at brigade level and below.

 

Waivers:

Prospective students in grades E-4 and E-5 are eligible to apply, and the IO Battalion Training Division Chief will consider such applications on a case by case basis.

Prerequisites:
Our expectation is that Tactical Information Operations Course students will have completed IO 101 prior to arriving.
