What is the Tactical IO Course?
The Tactical IO Course is an 11-day resident course offered by the 3-124th IO Training Battalion which prepares Service members to conduct Tactical Information Operations Planning using the Army’s Military Decision-Making Process. (This Tactical IO Course replaces the older IO 210). While all IO elements and activities are addressed, the IO planning focuses on synchronizing and coordinating Operational Security, Psychological Operations, Military Deception, Electronic Warfare, Physical Destruction, Public Affairs, and Civil Military Operations. Tactical IO Course graduates and their commanders report that the skills learned in the course were critical to their success during all types of missions.

Is there a prerequisite?
Yes. IO 101, a distance learning, self-paced course (40 hours) is the prerequisite that must be completed prior to your arrival at the Tactical IO Course. Your unit training NCO or schools administrator can enter you into this course via the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS). Be sure to include your Army Knowledge Online (AKO) email address in the application. The school code is 1030 and the course ID is NGB-AIS-IO (101). Soon after enrollment, you will receive instructions via email on how to start the course using any Internet-connected computer.

How do I enroll?
Your unit training NCO should enroll you in the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) System. The school code is 1030 and course ID is 061-9E-F14/950-F10. (The previous course number was known as NGB-AIS-IO (210)). This course is instructed by the 3-124th Information Operations Training School, part of the Vermont National Guard
