Incident Response Handlers (IRH)

Will train individual soldiers how to establish and operate a Computer Network Defense Team (CNDT) at the installation level in support of the Commander. This includes the management of the CNDT, duties of CNDT members, and an introduction to the vulnerabilities of popular operating systems. Students will learn the importance of conducting analysis of information that is reported to the CNDT in regards to the network, military support to civilian authorities, and the military information environment, in order to maintain a positive Computer Network Defense (CND) and information assurance (IA) posture. Topics covered will include but not limited to: CNDT incident reporting, triage, and network security tactics, techniques and procedures. This course is conducted via distance learning, employing multi-media instructional techniques with asynchronous instructor lead learning. Instructors guide students through the learning experience and challenge them with interactive practical exercises conducted virtually to reinforce learning objectives. This course is designed to prepare students for follow-on resident training in CND and IA.

IRH is a prerequisite for IO-OTE
