Incident Response Handlers (IRH) CourseCourse ID: NGB-AIS-IRH Length:40 hours Course Descriptions: IRH trains students to establish and operate a Computer Network Defense Team (CNDT) at the installation level, including management of the CNDT, duties of team members, and an introduction to the vulnerabilities of popular operating systems. Students will learn the importance of conducting analysis of information that is reported to the CNDT, including network, military support to civilian authorities, and the military information environment in order to maintain a positive Computer Network Defense (CND) and information assurance (IA) posture. Topics covered include CNDT incident reporting, triage, and network security tactics, techniques and procedures. This course is conducted via distance learning, employing multi-media instructional techniques with asynchronous instructor lead learning. Instructors guide students through the learning experience and challenge them with interactive practical exercises that reinforce learning objectives. This course is designed to prepare students for follow-on resident training in CND and IA. Graduates receive a certificate of completion and a DA Form 1059 (Academic Evaluation Report) to document their successful completion of the course. Prerequisites: IRH is a prerequisite for the Computer Network Defense Team Operational Training Experience (CNDT OTE) course.
