The M1A1 Individual
Gunnery Trainer (IGT) is a compact, fully deployable
trainer designed to teach, train, and sustain
fundamental gunnery skills for the gunner of the
M1A1 Abrams Tank.
The M1A1 IGT trains the critical acquisition,
identification, and engagement skills. The M1A1 IGT
trains the use of the gunner’s power control handles
with primary and alternate sighting systems to
engage moving and stationary targets in a realistic
battlefield environment during day and night
visibility conditions.
The M1A1 IGT scores and evaluates each target
engagement and provides the gunner with a detailed
summary of their performance. Multiple M1A1 IGT
systems can be networked to a central server
computer to collect all performance data for
tracking and monitoring of all training performance
results.
